newbie intro

Hey, howdy everyone. I am fairly new to MUDs in general. I just discovered them a couple of weeks ago. I love fantasy books and RPG games on most platforms (old school - pool of radiance and ultima series on C64, Champions of Norrath on PS2, Diablo, etc.)

But, nothing has sucha special place in my heart as Tolkien. So, I searched around and found this site. It still doesn't look like I can play yet, but I am hoping that something opens up soon for some play.

Anyways, I wish I had something good in the way of coding to help out, but I am not up on my C++, so maybe I'll try to watch the forums and drop some ideas? It looks like it's going to take a while just to catch up on what you have been doing the past couple of years.

So, hopefully I will be around a while. Keep the news coming so I know when I can jump in.

Hello and welcome! Hopefully there will be a version up in the not too distant future that you can begin playing with. MEM has been pretty much permanently in the middle of a major overhaul for the last two years. I'm it's primary/only programmer and I'm also a college student which means I have almost no time to work on it during the semester unfortunately. It is moving forward, but very slowly in fits and starts. If you have any ideas feel free to share them. I'm hoping to find time this weekend to put in a good few coding sessions and see how far I get. It'll be a little while before a playable version is up though.
